Chris Berger is Vice President, Enterprise Communications with Atrium Health. For his ability to cast the health system’s leaders into the national and political spotlight, Berger was named a winner in the PR Professional of the Year Nonprofit category.
Rachel Gogal – Atrium Health
Rachel Gogal is the Director of Executive Communications at Atrium Health, and this is her first professional accolade, winning the Speechwriter of the Year award.
Monica Miller – 3M
Monica Miller is the visionary behind the internal news site, 3M Go News, and for her ability to keep communications running smoothly, Miller has earned recognition as the Internal Communicator of the Year.
Tomasso Di Giovanni – Philip Morris International
Tomasso Di Giovanni For his success in elevating PMI’s voice and mission, Di Giovanni was recognized in the PR Professional of the Year—Corporate category.
Team of the Year, Class of 2022
Enterprise Communication – Atrium Health
Atrium Health communicators earned major coverage for the health care center’s work, including a mass vaccination event, a heart transplant, and a violence prevention program. They are the Communications Team of the Year!
Internal Communications – Atrium Health
When the Delta variant arrived, the ‘We’re All in This Together’ message wouldn’t work anymore, so the internal communications team focused on resilience along with more information. As a result, the team is an Internal Communications Team of the Year (1-9 people).
Employee and Executive Communications – 3M
A new podcast and a new newsletter were only some of the projects the 3M team successfully launched in 2021, making it an Internal Communications Team of the Year (25 people or more).

Miranda Creech – Gagen MacDonald
Miranda Creech is a senior manager at Gagen MacDonald, and her successful campaigns in high-profile situations and record success with internal employee communication make her a great pick for Ragan’s Rising Star award.
